Celebrating ZAMP 250 the only way we know how, with zombie news, The Walking Dead, and ZOMEMORIES! In the news we chat about Back 4 Blood being delayed from Summer to October 12th, the Resident Evil movie reboot has also been delayed to November, and AMC confirms the premiere date for the final season of The Walking Dead. Speaking of that, The Walking Dead returned with an extended Season 10, so our topic this week is the first three episodes of 10C. Finally, we close out the show with our own ZOMEMORIES and a few from our listeners. Thank you to everyone who has supported the show over the years, we really appreciate it!
The time has finally come, Stubbs the Zombie has been re-released and we’re ready to cover it on the show! Lou, a returning Stubbs fan, guides Ryan through the wonderful world of Rebel Without A Pulse. But before we bite into this 2005 cult classic, we have zombie news to catch up on. There’s a new zombie survival game coming to Steam Early Access in 2021 called Dead Matter, we have a release date for the Resident Evil movie reboot, Netflix confirms RE2 Remake voice actors will return for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, and the devs behind Dying Light 2 commit to more updates and a release window.
We return to complete our Extra Life fun with a movie discussion of Planet Terror! But before we get to the finger licking good clips, we catch up on the last month in zombie news. HBO casts it’s main leads for The Last of Us series, Stubbs the Zombie is BACK in a few weeks, Train to Busan is getting a US adaptation, and Netflix drops a release date and teaser trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead.
After what we believe to be FOUR LONG YEARS (we could be wrong and Absolute Zombie has just scarred us so), we’re back with a new audio commentary! We sit down and welcome you to watch Planet Terror with us. Please let us know if you end up enjoying this audio commentary, as we had a great time putting it together and would like to do more in the near future. Well, nearer than four years, we promise!
We conclude our viewing of the Return of the Living Dead franchise with Necropolis… But before that fun, we go over the zombie news! Fear The Walking Dead is scheduled to return on April 11th, and The Walking Dead’s Season 10C will get an early run on AMC+ by about a week. We may have been given a hint at when we can expect Army of the Dead to premiere on Netflix. Finally, sad news from the voice actor community, Jeanette Maus, a voice actor from Resident Evil Village has passed away at the age of 39.
Are you ready to Rave to the Grave? Because we are! But before that, we welcome our special guest Brent, who donated to our Extra Life campaign to suggest three films and join us on the show. We all break down a pretty zombie news heavy few weeks, kicking things off with everything announced at the RE Showcase, The Last of Us HBO series has a new director, SyFy’s Day of the Dead series will connect to the original classic, and AMC has a whole year of The Walking Dead scheduled (plus a TWD S10C trailer). Brent has a zombie board game to recommend with Zombicide: Night of the Living Dead. We close out the show with a discussion centred around Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave. Tuck in folks, this is our biggest episode in some time!
ZAMP has returned for 2021, and after we catch up on the zombie news, we welcome back a much requested feature to the podcast: CLIPS! Our first Extra Life donor sponsored film discussion is #Alive on Netflix. In the news, we discussed Day of the Dead actor Gary Klar passing away and the Resident Evil movie reboot getting a release date.
The Game Awards announce several unofficial sequels but not actually sequels including Back 4 Blood which is not a sequel to Left 4 Dead….. No really, not a sequel…. Also more Evil Dead with Evil Dead: The Game! Deep Silver swears Dead Island 2 is not cancelled. Maybe Madison is returning to Fear, or not, Gimple is playing Gimple. Our main topic is the dreaded (Lou: painful) to watch The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Does it have any redeeming value or do teens just suck in the zombie apocalypse? We give you the run down and more (Gimple)!
We kick things off with a BIG (and what should be fun) update on Extra Life. There’s still time to donate if you want to add your favourite zombie film to the mix. In the news, we follow up on our last episode with a Vice story detailing the development of Ray’s The Dead, first look images from the Resident Evil reboot movie, a teaser for the return of The Walking Dead on February 28th, and HBO gives a series order to The Last of Us. For our topic, we’re discussing the first half of Season 6 for Fear The Walking Dead. Turns out, we LOVED this season. Lou loved it so much, he wants to avoid spoilers from the teaser for Season 6B. Hope you enjoyed FTWD as much as we have, see you next episode for thoughts on The World Beyond.
The wait is finally over! Ray’s The Dead has arrived and we have thoughts to share on the new zombie strategy game (don’t forget to check our video companion for the game). But before we dive further into Ray’s adventure, we go over the zombie news. We break the emergency glass to cover Call of Duty Zombies, with the new Onslaught mode in Black Ops Cold War being exclusive to PlayStation. In other news, Capcom considers the new Netflix Resident Evil anime canon, Rainbow Six Quarantine has been delayed, TWD casts Lucille for Season 10C, and The Walking Dead will have a holiday special next month.
